Ghana Medical Mission Volunteer Program
- Qualifications required:Students who are at the medical/nursing school, qualified doctors, nurses, pre-med students, CNAs, paramedics and public health workers (on the HIV/AIDS Outreach Presentation)

Medical mission trips with RVO provide short-term medical volunteer opportunity in Ghana for medical professionals, nurses, dentists, pharmacist, college students and pre-med students. Medical missions are available year-round in Ghana.
On a medical mission trip with RVO, you will have the opportunity to provide medical care and healthcare education to communities where healthcare is limited or difficult to obtain. We have formed a partnership in these communities with trained healthcare givers to offer free healthcare services in diverse ways to people and the targeted ones are of the women, children, and elderly.
The program offers immense level of hands-on experience & knowledge in various clinical specialties. The program encompasses anything from the clinical fields of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Clinical Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Dentist, Eye test and Critical care, General and Orthopedics Surgery to the specialties of E.N.T, Ophthalmology and Radiology. Students/Professionals are directed by the supervising doctors and consultants to enable them to draw an understanding of diverse aspects relating to the care of the patient e.g. relevant history taking in various body systems, physical examination, relevant laboratory investigations and their interpretation arriving at pertinent diagnoses and appropriate treatment measures.

What are the requirements to join a medical mission trip to Ghana?
RVO offers affordable medical mission trips for nursing/medical students and pre nursing/ medical students, as well as trips for qualified healthcare professionals.
All volunteers are supervised by local staff and under instruction from qualified doctors during a medical mission trip, so regardless of your level of qualification or experience, you can feel confident that you will be well supported to make a valuable contribution on your mission trip.
How long can I go on a medical mission trip for ?
RVO runs volunteer programs year-round but medical mission trip Volunteer program is for 14 Days, programs start on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. Also individuals / groups can choose to volunteer in Ghana for durations ranging above 14 weeks to 24 weeks, so it’s easy to coordinate a mission trip that works with your schedule.
How do I apply for a medical mission trip in Ghana ?
- Complete the free online application form with the details of your chosen program and dates, as well as details of your qualifications, skills and experience in the medical field. You will then receive an email from RVO that we have received your application. Within 24 hours (1 working day), you will receive an email from our Programs Manager acknowledging your application and confirming, project and dates of your volunteer program. In this email, you will receive instructions on how to pay the Registration/program Fee in order to confirm your booking with the RVO
- As soon as your deposit payment of Registration/program Fee has been received by RVO, you will be provided with all the information and support you need to prepare for your upcoming volunteer program. Your RVO Program Manager will be your point of contact throughout your preparations up until you finish your volunteer program.

SUGGESTED ITINERARY:
Day 1: Travel to Ghana Kotoka International Airport in Accra, transfer to hotel and meeting to coordinate the day-to-day scheduling for the week.
Days 2/3: Clinic 1 Work and Lunch at near restaurant with staff members
Days 4/5: Clinic 2 Work and Lunch at near restaurant with staff members
Days 6/7: Clinic 3 Work and Lunch at near restaurant with staff members
Days 8/9: Clinic 4 Work and Lunch at near restaurant with staff members
Days 10/11:Clinic 5 Work and Lunch at near restaurant with staff members
Day 12: Day Off: Touring in Accra city centre and lunch at the beach.
Final Day: Departure from Accra Ghana to respective countrie
